In the past millennium, the Perida team has been involved in developing comfortable

seating modules for Perida and other leading furniture factories in Europe. Originally

founded in 1903 as a mattress factory, after the Second World War the company

changed its focus from sleeping comfort to sitting comfort.

Perida design is synonymous with quality. Quality in design, durability, technique and,

of course, in price. This is expressed in all Perida models.  PERIDA itself guarantees

conformance with standards for Company Quality Systems. In other words, after

independently setting goals to be reached, after "inventing" the best way to develop

the design, and after carrying out its own, highly stringent final tests, PERIDA offers 

the company itself as the customer's guarantee of quality. And PERIDA quality is an

all-encompassing type of quality whose aim  is to provide the highest levels of comfort

as well as unmatched durability over time.

In 1982 we introduced  custom made furniture. Each item of Perida furniture is

manufactured and finished according to the customer's specific requirements.

The Perida tradition has had quality, comfort and service as its key concepts for nearly

100 years.  Constantly searching for improvements in comfort, in 1995 we developed the

Hydrocomfort system in collaboration with the Delft Technical University. This ingenious

system makes it possible to improve seating comfort drastically, aided by a mere

of 8 liters of water.

The system consists of a compartment in the seat and back cushions. 

The water is located in the seat section. When someone sits on the unit,  the water flows

through a stabilizer to the back section, providing an equal distribution of pressure. 

As a result, the hydrocomfort system provides the best support in all circumstances,

for all sizes and shapes of people. In addition, the total system is located inside

a safety lining, making the possibility of leaks very small indeed.

in Europe, and  since August 1999, in the USA as well.

The first chairs using this system have been in use since 1995. Over the past few years,

the system has proven itself to be completely reliable in seating furniture.

The fabrics

PERIDA remarkably broad selection of fabrics is distinguished by a constant search for

exclusive, innovative materials that range from cloths to jacquards, from curly "teddy bear"

velvets to unique weaves with a straw effect which are made from "threads" of

recycled paper. To employ each fabric in the best way possible, PERIDA  considers

it very important to analyze whether the specific characteristics of the upholstery

covering are compatible with the appearance and functional requirements of the product

being upholstered.

Many PERIDA  fabrics are treated with finishes, which protect

upholstery from liquids, stains and dirt in general. The treatment will remain even after

the covering has been dry cleaned or washed many times.

The leathers

PERIDA  selects only those leathers which can maintain their natural characteristics as

long as possible over time. However, it must be remembered that certain processes and

finishing procedures are necessary, so that the material can provide an adequate level of

resistance to scuffing and light and with stand normal maintenance operations.

All the fundamental properties of strength and resistance that are offered by PERIDA

fabrics and leathers are regularly tested in accordance with

UNI standards for padded furniture.
