In 1903 Peter Ridder opened “De Ooievaar” (Stork)mattress factory.
In 1953 Ooievaar became Perida.
Piet Ridder thought a new name would be appropriate:
PETER RIDDER AMSTERDAM. "P E R I D A". Over four
generations the Ridder family built up an excellent relationship with the suppliers, colleagues,
and, above all, the customers. Honesty, friendship, respect and trust have
guaranteed that the company achieved its 100 year milestone. From its early
beginnings as a mattress factory, Perida has developed into a modern manufacturer
of tailor-made sofas and armchairs that are manufactured to suit the wishes of
each individual customer. Alongside the production of comfortable tailor-made
seating, Perida also specializes in a wide range of innovative upholstery projects,
such as leather wall and instrument panels, as well as special designs
for yachts and private jets. On 27 October 2003, by the order of Her Majesty
Queen Beatrix, Perida received the designation By Appointment to the Court
of the Netherlands
